Technology project: Interactive Articulation PowerPoint
This is an interactive PowerPoint that I created as a tool for clinicians working with young children who demonstrate difficulty with voiced and unvoiced bilabial stops. The PowerPoint was designed to bring in multiple avenues so that the SLP could effectively treat articulation difficulties while addressing other disciplines, such as science and social studies. My goal was to create a tool that was useful for facilitating articulation treatment while remaining supportive of studies across the curriculum.
The PowerPoint was designed with bright colors and a multitude of animation features to keep young children engaged and focused on the stimulus material presented. Without high interest material, it is unlikely that young children will buy-in to the activity. Therefore, by selecting an interesting and novel topic that provides plenty of opportunity for additional language stimulation, I hope to provide a tool here that other SLPs find useful in their own practice.
